Spring
Spring is called ‘the king of seasons’. Spring lasts for three months-February, March and April. This is a very pleasant season. It is neither too cold nor too hot. Gentle breeze blows beneath the blue sky. The sky becomes cloudless. Green grass covers the field. The trees which looked lifeless in winter spring into life in spring. New leaves come out from bare branches. Air is filled with sweet songs of cuckoos. Nature wears a nice look with beautiful flowers. Roses, jasmines, marigolds spread sweet in the air. Fruits grow in plenty now. Apples, bananas, oranges are available in this season. Vegetables are cheap in this time. Spring does not lag behind in festivals. Festivals like Saraswati Puja and Doljatra bring happiness to every home in Bengal. Holi is celebrated throughout India with cheers and colours. Spring is full of glamour and pleasure. The season gives energy and strength to do hard work. So we long for the spring in the line ‘If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?’
