Satyajit Ray
Satyajit Ray was one of the finest film-maker of the world. He came of a literary family of Kolkata in 1921. Both his father and grand-father were writers of well-read children’s literature. He had his degree from Presidency College. He went to Santiniketan to take lessons on art. He was deeply influenced by Tagore’s ideals. Ray directed ‘Pather Panchali’, ‘Charulata’, Etc which are famous in filmdom. The humane touches and technique of his work gave him international fame. He was familiar with the Western art, film, and music. His works like ‘Feluda’, ‘Prof Shanku’, etc. amuse the young and the old alike. He was a genius. A writer musician painter director and what not. He was an artist par excellence. He was honored with different film awards from different parts of the world. He won Bharat Ratna and Oscar two highest awards in national and international arena. We pay our hearty homage to him. He left us on the 23rd April, 92 creating a void in the field of films.
